Mark Walton is owner of Garrison’s Greenwood Gardens, a locally owned and operated independent retail and garden center serving the Greenwood and Shreveport are since 1959.

10:00 – 10:40 a.m. Dr. Allen Owings, LSU AgCenter — Common Products from the Garden Center Shelf
Dr. Allen Owings is a statewide leader for LSU AgCenter extension programs providing service to green industry professionals and serves as the Gulf District Director for the American Rose Society.
10:45 – 12:00 Stephen Scanniello — Pruning Heritage Roses — outside learning demonstration
Stephen Scanniello is an author, recipient of many horticulture awards and an expert on growing heritage roses. He is best known as a hands-on gardener who transformed the Cranford Rose Garden of the Brooklyn Botanic Garden into one of the world’s most acclaimed rose gardens. His specialty is old garden roses. Bring your sharpened clippers for a hands-on pruning lesson in the Heritage Rose Garden. This educational/lab experience will improve not only pruning skills, but also rose care throughout 2016.
