The Houston Rose Society Research Garden features easy-care Shrub Roses. Some of these roses have been designated Earth-Kind by Texas A & M University Agricultural Extension Service.

These roses grow with no pruning, often no watering, and no spraying of fungicides or insecticides. Note the varieties located in this garden, such as ‘Carefree Beauty’ and ‘Earth Song’ shrub roses that are available commercially at many nurseries.

Directly across from this garden is the Deep South District Garden with plantings of Pink and Blush Knock-Out™ shrub roses, the beautiful, pink blend hybrid tea rose, ‘Louise Estes’. Also note the ruffled, apricot blend or orange-pink blooms of the ‘Easy Does It’ Floribunda Rose.
