Shreveport, LA- The Gardens of the American Rose Center continues the year-long celebration of their 40th year of blooming in Shreveport with the second 2014 Green Thumb Educational Seminar on Saturday, April 12, 2014. In conjunction with SPRING BLOOM, the day long celebration of springtime in the Gardens of the American Rose Center, the Green Thumb Seminar will begin the day with an opportunity to learn about and enjoy the best of the best plants and flowers for your 2014 garden.

9:00 a.m. Opening remarks, Welcome and Introduction of speakers
9:05-9:55 a.m. Dr. Brent Pemberton, Texas A&M, Overton
Best of the New Flowers from East Texas. Dr Pemberton’s area of research is in the nursery and floriculture which includes the East Texas Bedding Plant Trials. He has also conducted extensive research on irrigation practices, ad weed and disease control in home gardens.
